Application of Peristaltic Pump for Paint Manufacturing

2022-01-04
1. The use of the Peristaltic Pump in paint manufacturing:
Precise metering to make color uniform Peristaltic pumps are now used to measure the flow rate of the mixed fluid from the mixing tank with fine control to ensure the required retention time in the dispersion mill. In a dispersion mill, various coarse materials are dispersed to the fineness required to achieve a stable dispersion and a uniform product.
These peristaltic pumps not only guarantee the critical metering required to produce quality colorants but also reduce installation and maintenance time. These steam pumps are mounted on a wheeled vehicle that can be transported from one mill to another. By changing the feed pipe, the pumps are used alternately at different mills. The high concentration of pigment produced from the dispersion mill must be mixed with other components to make paint. Since the parts of this pump do not come into contact with the processing fluid, cleaning is not required.
2. The peristaltic pump operation and maintenance:
As soon as the fluid passes through the feed tube, the creep pump accelerates its flow, controls its velocity, and feeds the material according to an accurate ratio of ingredients. The basic principle of the operation can be described as follows: pinch a straw between your fingers and slide your fingers along the straw to squeeze out the liquid in the straw. In the peristaltic pump, this extrusion is achieved through a rotating device consisting of multiple rollers that are completely attached to the feed tube. When the feed tube is extruded back to normal size, the extraction action occurs. The fluid is drawn in, captured by the rear roller, and discharged from the pump. This pump operation can be used for the delivery of abrasive, slurry, polymers, and corrosive fluids. These extruded rollers have automatic check valves to prevent liquid backflow.

As mentioned above, no other parts are in contact with the fluid except the feed tube. This eliminates the possibility that the fluid will corrode the pump or the pump will contaminate the fluid. Whereas traditional metering pumps have to be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance, peristaltic pumps require only the occasional replacement of the feed line, which takes a few minutes. The pump is self-cleaning: it dries easily and has no gaskets, seals, and valves that cause clogging or malfunction.
