Peristaltic pump pulse suppressor

What is the Peristaltic Pump?
Peristaltic pumps act like squeezing a fluid-filled hose with your finger and moving forward as your finger slides the fluid in the tube forward. Peristaltic pumps are based on the same principle, but use rollers instead of fingers. The fluid is pumped by alternately squeezing and releasing the pump's flexible delivery hose. Just like squeezing a hose with two fingers, as the fingers move, negative pressure builds up in the tube and the liquid flows with it. The peristaltic pump is a part of the pump tube between two rollers that forms a "pillow" shaped fluid. The volume of the "pillow" depends on the inner diameter of the pump tube and the geometry of the rotor. The flow rate depends on the product of three parameters: the speed of the pump head, the size of the "pillow", and the number of "pillows" produced by the rotor per revolution. The size of the "pillow" is usually constant (except when a particularly viscous fluid is pumped). A pump with a larger "pillow" volume will transport a larger volume of fluid per revolution of the rotor than a pump with the same rotor diameter, but with a greater degree of pulsation. This is similar to the case of diaphragm valves. For pumps that produce smaller "pillow" volumes, the amount of fluid transported by the rotor per revolution is also smaller; Moreover, small "pillows" formed in rapid succession make fluid flow more stable. This is similar to the way gear pumps work.
Advantages and disadvantages of peristaltic pump
(1) Advantages
1. No pollution: fluid only contact with the pump tube, not the pump body;
2. High precision: good repeatability, high stability, and high precision;
3. Low shear force: ideal tool for conveying shear sensitive and corrosive fluids;
4, good air tightness: strong self-priming ability, idling, prevent backflow;
5. Simple maintenance: no valves and seals;
6. Two-way equal flow transmission capacity; In the absence of liquid and dry operation, will not damage any parts of the pump; It can produce up to 98 percent vacuum; There are no valves, mechanical seals, and packing seals, so there are no leakage and maintenance factors; It can easily transport solid, liquid or gas-liquid mixed phase fluid so that the solid diameter contained in the fluid reaches 40% of the inner diameter of the tube element; It can transport a variety of abrasive, corrosive and oxygen-sensitive materials and a variety of food, etc. Only the hose needs to be replaced, and the operation is very simple. The product transported does not touch any components except hoses.
(2) Disadvantages
1. Pressure limitation: the use of flexible tubing will limit the pressure
2. Pulse flow is generated when the pump is running
The solution: use a pulse suppressor
A pulse suppressor is a simple locator container. It works because air compresses more easily than liquid. The pulse stream enters the container, the airbag on the liquid sinks to absorb the pulse, and then smoothly flows out of the pulse suppressor.
3. Peristaltic pump by adjusting the speed and changing the pump tube diameter to achieve flow change. The peristaltic pump flow range is relatively narrow.

What is the peristaltic pump? The working principle and advantages and disadvantages of the peristaltic pump are introduced to everyone. Peristaltic pumps are ideal for laboratory, pilot plant, and process applications, as well as distribution, metering, and general delivery applications. Peristaltic pumps also have a soft pumping effect and are ideal for shear-sensitive polymers and fragile cell cultures.
