Peristaltic Pump to Solve the Measurement Problem of Paint Manufacturing

2021-12-20
As soon as the fluid passes through the feed tube, the Peristaltic Pump speeds up its flow, controls its velocity, and delivers the material at an exact ratio of ingredients. The basic principle of operation can be expressed in the following analogy: pinch a straw between your fingers and slide your fingers along the straw to squeeze out the liquid in the straw.
In a peristaltic pump, this extrusion is achieved using a rotating device consisting of several rollers that are completely attached to the feed tube. When the feed tube is extruded back to normal size, the extraction action occurs. The fluid is sucked in and captured by the rear roller and discharged from the pump. This pump operation can be used for the delivery of abrasive, slurry, polymers, and corrosive fluids. These extrusion rollers have automatic check valves to prevent liquid backflow.
As mentioned above, no other parts are in contact with the fluid except the feed tube. This eliminates the possibility that the fluid will corrode the pump or the pump will contaminate the fluid.

Whereas traditional metering pumps have to be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance, peristaltic pumps require only the occasional replacement of the feed line, which takes a few minutes. The pump is self-cleaning and dries easily. And there are no gaskets, seals, and valves that can cause clogging or failure.
