Peristaltic Pump vs Centrifugal Pump

2021-10-22

The pump is a relatively large industry and has different divisions according to different standards. The basic categories include pumps, solar pumps, peristaltic pumps, centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, and so on. Today we will introduce you to the Peristaltic Pump and centrifugal pump.

Centrifugal pump refers to the pump that transfers the liquid by the centrifugal force generated when the impeller rotates. A peristaltic pump is like a fluid-filled hose squeezed with a finger, and the fluid moves forward as the finger slides forward. The peristaltic pump is also a principle that only replaces the finger with the roller. The fluid is pumped by alternately squeezing and releasing the elastic delivery hose of the pump. Just like the hose is squeezed by two fingers, as the finger moves, a negative pressure develops in the tube and the liquid flows along with it.

Simply put, the reason why these two types of pumps generate power is different and the mode of operation is different. Peristaltic pump is a kind of precision instrument, it runs steadily and has accurate flow rate. Peristaltic pump is widely used in medical, laboratory and other institutions. In addition, the peristaltic pump is small and portable, and many outdoor scientific research institutions also use peristaltic pumps.

Centrifugal pumps can be widely used in electric power, metallurgy, coal, building materials and other industries to transport slurry containing solid particles. Such as thermal power plant ash, metallurgical ore dressing plant slurry transport, coal washing plant coal slurry and heavy medium transportation. When the centrifugal pump is working, the pump needs to be placed on land, the suction pipe is placed in the water, and the pump needs to be started. Because the slurry pump and the liquid centrifugal pump are limited by the structure, the motor needs to be placed on the water surface during operation and the pump is placed in water, so it must be fixed. Otherwise, the motor falling into the water will cause the motor to be scrapped. Moreover, since the length of the long axis is generally fixed, the installation of the pump is troublesome, and the application occasion is subject to many restrictions.

This is a simple feature of peristaltic pumps and centrifugal pumps. If you have any questions or do not know which one is suitable for you when choosing your product, you can contact us at any time.
